The Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal is a great place to spend the day. Complete with three museums (Cincinnati History Museum, Museum of Natural History and Science, Cinergy Children's Museum) and an Omnimax theater there is something for the whole family.
The Cincinnati History Museum has excellent displays of Cincinnati history and its involvement in state and national history. The Museum of Natural History and Science offers a fun tour through the natural processes which have shaped the Ohio Valley we know today. Explore the ice age, go caving, learn about archaeology and more at this fascinating museum. The Children's museum is a place for kids to explore and learn in a variety of fun activities.
The entire center is enclosed in the Cincinnati Union Terminal which once was a very active hub for the railroad, especially during World War II. Upon entering, the visitor is struck by a huge mural adorning the far wall. Today, besides being the home of the Museum Center, one train a night goes through Union Terminal on its way to either Chicago or Washington DC.
This center is well worth the price. A must see if you are visiting Cincinnati.

Real Pirates
The Whydah, filled with treasure, sank off the coast of Cape Cod in April, 1717, in a storm. Actual artifacts recovered from the wreck take visitors on a voyage back to the days of piracy in the early 18th century Caribbean, a time when the region was the economic engine of the early modern world. See the actual ship's bell that was the proof that the ship was the Whydah. Weapons and armaments, mundane objects including clay pipes, a teakettle, wine spigots and an inkwell, and golden treasure bring this world to life. These artifacts, recovered by underwater explorer Barry Clifford, tell the compelling story of the slave ship that became a pirate ship commanded by "Black Sam" Bellamy.
